Overstuffed Reclining Sofas That Are Not Overpriced

Unlike eating too much food at one time, being overstuffed can have advantages when you happen to be a sofa. If you love the extra-cushy feeling of seating pieces that have extra padding,  you may have noticed that there are more “understuffed” models than overstuffed versions available from manufacturers.

Enjoying extra-thick padding on your seating items is a personal preference and there is no reason why you cant have your cake and your extra stuffing too. As a matter of fact, overstuffed furniture can be incredibly practical in the long run. They can stand up to more daily use by family and friends without losing that cushiony, comfortable support that other styles do. Some people simply cannot tolerate hard or firm seating. Featured on this page are three sofas with overstuffed comfort that don’t come with overstuffed price tags:

Cranley Double Reclining Bonded Leather Sofa in Brown by Homelegance

Although the picture here shows a dark brown recliner sofa, after studying the rest of the room’s decor, you may get the impression that you could use the shade as you would a neutral. Savvy decorators with an eye for earth-tone accessories can create harmonious, yet exciting rooms even with a shade as basic as brown.

Bonded leather materials give this recliner sofa a lovely sheen that catches the light when compared to its duller counterpart; dark brown fabric upholstery.  This item is manufactured with a low profile “gentle release” hand mechanism for unlocking the recliners and is classified as a contemporary style

Cons: Only comes in black or brown. There is only one customer review at this time; although it is a positive one. The brown shade is more of a man-pleaser style.

Pros: It has extra padding in the seats, arms and backs for overstuffed sitting comfort. A recliner on each end makes it practical and functional for family time. Brown upholstery is better at hiding little spots and stains.

The Two Tone Reclining Sofa by Presley

When I first began looking at all the types of sofa designs on the market today, one of the styles that hit me as incredibly unique is the design concept of using two-tone upholstery. You can find this style online a lot more these days.

The Presley sofa comes with pillow top arms, extra-full padded back support and the seating area is molded to create a cradle effect when you recline. According to the manufacturer, this sofa has the ability to let you create multiple reclining positions for individualized comfort.

Cons: Two tone furniture can be challenging to accessorize; especially if you love prints and patterns on your decorative pillows, curtains, e.t.c. Microfibers and faux suedes can take work to keep clean; especially if people want to eat and drink on it.

Pros: Modern, edgy and makes a bold statement in the room. Presley makes this design in a matching loveseat as well. Sofa designs like this are made for people who make comfort and low-key living a priority.

Coaster Walter Casual Dual Reclining Sofa in Brown Bonded Leather

Bonded leather products always have their pros and cons, but they do offer a genuine leather look for a lot less money.  This particular style has some interesting two-tone coloration in the bonded leather material that gives it dimension and a “European” vibe.

The casual design works for  both a main sofa for the living room as well as a gathering spot for friends in the  family room, game room or den. Because we are all different when it comes to what we consider well-padded furniture, there are differences of opinion on how supportive the extra stuffing is when the sofa “settles” in with use. You can read the reviews here.

Cons: As in the description, the Walter design is casual and fits in better with less formal decor. Like many brown sofas, it has a masculine vibe which, of course, may not be a con at all for folks who love earth-tone shades.

Pros: The mottled and marbled appearance of the upholstery makes this one look a lot more expensive than it is. Having a double recliner feature with extra padding on the arms, back and seats makes this a sofa that your family and friends will find inviting and comforting to use. The price is very affordable for most budgets.

When you combine extra padding with a recliner design, the overall vibe for your living space is more casual versus formal. However, some of these sofas are elegant at the same time due to their materials. Smart and savvy home decorators can always use accessories that have a sophisticated, formal look to create an eclectic theme to mix with casual, overstuffed furniture. All of them lean back and invite you to put your feet up and stay awhile.
